Glad the wheelies have taken a leaf out of the 'real' archers with the wooden arrows book. Field archery is meant to be fun. see you on the archery course soon.

Is there any sort of properly serious field archery other than not serious? Fun is serious, serious is boring! I'm not really confused, just love shooting arrers at unmarked distances whilst enjoying the glorious English countryside!

Having visited your site i feel that i must make comment on your statement that the EFAA is just GNAS in the woods. If you took the time to look around you, you may find that a lot of the top NFAS archers belong to the EFAA, and that it is through the EFAA that they get to represent their country in international competition. It doesn't matter what organisation you belong to, we are all a fellowship of archers who enjoy the pleasure of shooting a bow. This "knocking" of other organisations has to stop. Although i am a member of the EFAA, I have attended shoots with all three of the main organisations and have found that they all have something to offer. I am aware that we all have personal preferences but is a club web site the best place to air them. OK. Thats the moaning out of the way. Please do no

I have just seen my message on your board and the end of it seems to have been cut off. So here it is again. If my memory serves me correctly. Please do not dismiss other organisations so easily. I will agree that most EFAA shoots are marked, but we do run unmarked and 3D shoots too. The annual Bowhunter Championships are an unmarked competition and some of the winners are usually EFAA/NFAS members. This also goes for the European and World Champs. WE ALL SHOOT A BOW, WE ALL ENJOY IT, WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?

Thanks Mike, but your missing the point, FALLEN ARCHErS is a loose toungue-in-the-cheek group of archers that are out to enjoy themselves, indeed we are not "knocking" the other organisations, far from it, we appreciate that all have something to offer. FA's chose to go the NFAS route, that isn't to say we disapprove of the EFAA style - we just prefer NFAS. The FA's web site merely reflects that preference, it is not claiming that one style is better than another. This year, members of the FA's will be shooting NFAS, EFAA and GNAS, - Compound, Flatbow and Olympic Recurve can we be anymore diverse?

Ah the old stop picking on my society...club....type of bow...blah blah blah....Heres a good one. A few years back I was involved in setting up ITFAS-Irish traditional field archery society. It does exactly what it says on the tin i.e caters exclusively for trad'. Any non member can shoot with us so long as they pay a insurance levy of 50c and SHOOT TRAD. Immediately the skilled down bow brigade (Compounds) started the old moan of 'Discrimination''Exclusivity'etc etc. However the main club for wheelie bows have just imposed a rule where non members are no longer welcome. You have to become a full member just to shoot with them. You guys sound like you have it sussed...and I would wager that the majority of you shoot traditional....am I right? Herne

Well havn't I just plonked my old size nines in it!!!! Couldn't read your history last nite for some reason. Now that I have I see that you are wheelie bow merchants...whoops. My experiance of U.k (and most Irish) wheelie bowers have been of the ''hold my umbrella for me whilst I fret about the wind and the 24 spot''. Obviously you guys have realised that just cos your equipment costs more than my car you can still relax and have fun with your bow.....there is hope

I was even more useless than usual, however had great fun, excellent day, good company!! Lets all just get back to shooting bows and arrows safely and for fun, and if you happen to win great... I'm still happy to come back home with all the arrows I started the day with!! Regards Dennis

It appears that the true spirit of sport is still alive and well, "laugh a bit, cry a bit, shoot a few arrows, tell a few lies and have a few beers, then do it all again next week. Keep up the good work

Just found your site through our link Good site enjoyed reading the comments will viit you again sometime soon Instinctive Archery Recently I went to a shoot at Magna Carta for Instinctive styles only sheer bliss. We got there a little late. For which I apologise they held the start until they found us a target and away we all went. No hold ups because of waiting for sighted styles to fiddle with their sights and play around twiddling. All the participants took their shots scored and moved on. O K a few stopped for a while to look for arrows but it ran pretty smoothly. We finished quite early. The food and course were very well served. It was a very interesting and trying course without over long distances. Well placed strategic targets. In contrast we went to Avalon weekend shoot and the hold ups were

Been to your site a few tiomes in the past, but never with the volume turned up on the computer before. The music is just perfect and adds loads to the site. Particularly found of Deul'ng Bangos - just fits archery stuff perfectly, although I'll be looking over my back in future, don't want a re-inactment of any scenes from "Deliverance". Take care guys, good site.
